Provide technical support to customers post-deployment, including reporting, basic troubleshooting and guidance on WAF policy adjustments. Monitor customer environments for security events, WAF alerts, and traffic anomalies, escalating as needed to senior engineers or technical support. Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., Delivery, Support, Security) to ensure a smooth post-sales experience. Stay updated on WAF features, product updates, and best practices to support ongoing learning and development. Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal processes and knowledge-sharing within the team.
Technical Skills 1–2 years of experience in web technologies, application security, or CDN/WAF solutions (experience with cloud WAF like Akamai, Cloudflare, etc is a strong plus but not mandatory). Basic understanding of HTTP/S protocols, web application architecture, and common security risks (e.g., SQL injection, XSS, OWASP Top 10). Willingness to learn how to manage and tune WAF rules, analyze traffic logs, and handle basic troubleshooting. Familiarity with any web server, firewall, or load balancer technology is an advantage. Customer-Facing Experience Some experience in a technical support, IT consulting, or post-sales engineering role is preferred. Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Comfortable working with customers to troubleshoot and resolve issues, with guidance from senior team members. Soft Skills Good analytical and problem-solving skills. Eagerness to learn and develop expertise in Akamai WAF and security products. Team player with the ability to collaborate across departments. Education & Training Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience). Willing to pursue technical certification or similar training as part of career growth.
