Identify managed security systems/devices and their existing configuration conditions. Ensure that the operating system of each managed device is at least N-1 from the latest major version. Actively update the latest Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) that affect the running software version. Analyze change requests to compliance with security baselines such as firewalls, WAFs, and IPS. Serve as a Subject Matter Expert in troubleshooting and recovery of escalated incidents by Layer 1 engineers. Perform in-depth troubleshooting for complicated issues that require coordination with the principal. Attend meetings with other support teams for discussion and troubleshooting issues. Provide guidance to Layer 1 engineers and recommendations to operational managers. The scope of Layer 2 includes all systems monitored by operations. Develop daily Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documents for managed security devices.
